Krishna Mutt parking row settled; responsibility entrusted to Shiroor seer

Udupi, Feb 02, 2018:  The responsibility of managing the parking area of Sri Krishna Mutt has been assigned to Sri Lakshmivara Theertha Swamiji of Shiroor Mutt as per a unanimous decision taken by the Ashta Mutt seers, thereby putting a full stop to the controversy.

 

The decision was taken at a meeting held on Thursday at the Vijayadhwaja  building of Pejawar Mutt in the  presence of the Ashta Mutt pontiffs including the Pejawar seer and the Shiroor seer.

The controversy had cropped up a few days ago after the Shiroor seer had  bulldozed and vacated a few shops  in the parking area of the Mutt on the grounds  that  there were irregularities  in the collection of parking fee.  The  parking area was earlier managed by the Sri Krishna Mutt’s Parisara Abhivridhi Trust.

At the meeting the Shiroor Seer also produced  several receipts bearing the same serial number, with regard to  collection of parking fees and also  alleged that higher parking fee was collected.

Finally, it was decided to entrust the parking area  responsibility to the Shiroor Seer.

Sri Vidyadheesha Swamiji of Paryaya Phalimar Mutt, Sri Vishwa Prasanna Theertha Swamiji, Junior Pontiff of Pejawar Mutt, Sri Vishwa Vallabha Theertha  Swamiji of Sode Mutt and Sri Eshapriya  Theertha Swamiji, junior swamiji of Admar Mutt participated in the meeting.

Later speaking to reporters, the Pejewar seer said the Mutt assistant had not remitted the  parking free amount to the Trust  and  that action has been initiated against him.
