Kasargod, Sep 9, 2015 : Investigations into the September 7 incident of daylight robbery in the Eriyal branch of Koodlu Service Co-operative Bank is underway. Police are trying to find out if the missing of two local people has got anything to do with the robbery.
Incidentally, the needle of suspicion has arisen mainly because one of the two missing persons was an accused in a case of theft recently.
The police are finding it difficult to track down the robbers mainly because the bank did not have CCTV cameras . Still they are leaving no stone unturned and have sealed the state’s borders to ensure that the stolen valuables are not smuggled to other states.
Here it may be recalled that the robbers had decamped with 21 kg gold ornaments and Rs 13 lakh cash from the bank after threatening the staff and others in the bank by brandishing weapons. The robbery has also revealed the lack of adequate safety and security arrangements in the Bank.
DySP Ranjith led special team is investigating the case.
But now a days CCTV camera is a must in public offices and how can the bank be so careless. Didn’t the employee’s notice the thieves?
