Bangalore, June 12, 2013 : State Minister for Health and Family Welfare UT Khader who has kicked off a controversy with the Gutka ban decision, has now said that his department will provide free denture sets to senior citizens.
Speaking after laying the foundation for the Arogya Saudha to be constructed by the Health Department at the Leprosy Hospital premises on Magadi Road on June 1, Tuesday, the Minister said senior citizens were finding it extremely difficult to consume food in the absence of good teeth. The health department will offer free denture sets to those above 65 years, he said.
He further said this was not just an announcement, but the scheme will shortly be implemented. He however refused to divulge more details.
