Kasaragod, May 12, 2016: The dead body of a middle-aged Keralite woman, who was reported to be missing during a train journey, has been found near near railway tracks at Barkur in Udupi.
The dead body was found in a bush a little away from the railway tracks. Ajitha (40) was travelling with her daughter and husband in Mangala Express on Sunday night, when she went missing.
Ajitha’s family had been living in Mumbai for the past 20 years. They were going to their home at Chelakkara in Thrissur to spend vacation when she went missing.
Police suspect it to be a case of accidental death and have rejected reports that she was sexually abused. Initial reports suggest that she died from a head injury.
