Kasargod, Aug 29,2015 : Kasargod district is observing a total bundh on August 29, Saturday in the backdrop of the call given by the CPI(M) to protest against the brutal killing of one of its activists C Narayan by unidentified assailants on August 28 Friday.
The roads are wearing a deserted look with almost all private as well as government buses remaining of the roads. A few private vehicles are however seen on the roads. People are seen at the bus stops and at railway stations with many remaining stranded for hours. It has been gathered that many were even unaware about the bundh call given by the CPI(M).
Most shops have downed their shutters and there have been reports of some people placing stones and barricades on roads to prevent movement of vehicles.
It has been gathered that the police who are investigating into the case of murder of the activist have so far registered cases against three persons.
Saturday being the third day of Onam festivities, the bundh has dampened the festive spirit of Kasargod people.
