Kasargod, Feb 18, 2014 : Kasargod police have formed special squads to launch a crackdown on shops selling sweets laced with drugs and pen cigarettes targeting students.
This move has been made in the backdrop of the recent operations wherein police had seized pen cigarettes and confectionaries laced with drugs from shops in close vicinity of schools.
Dr V Balakrishnan, Circle Inspector of Kasargod has informed that the squads will be led by sub-inspectors of the police stations concerned. The squads are raiding various places and seizing suspected goods. The same will be subject to chemical and lab tests. If drugs are found in them then action will follow against the shop keepers concerned, he informed.
