Vijaya Bank robbery case

Meanwhile, police have released two sketches of the main suspect in the case. It has been gathered that the arrested Yusuf had taken the main suspect to the building where the bank is housed to introduce him to the landlord so that he could take a room below the bank premises for rent.

Here it may mentioned that cash of Rs 2.95 lakh apart from gold weighing 19.75 kg were stolen from the bank by thieves who had entered the bank premises by drilling a hole  through the shop in the lower floor.

One Ismail from Manjeshwar Kadambar  is said to be the mastermind behind the robbery and presently he and  four of his accomplices are said to be absconding. It is said  the papers  which Ismail said belonged to his wife and which he had submitted to the landlord while getting the premises for rent, were fake.

It has been gathered that he had taken the room on rent three months ago stating he intended to start a footwear and fancy store and had  even brought a few workers to get the interiors done. However, he had started the work to drill a hole   on the ceiling of his room which led directly to the strong room of the bank.

State Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala and ADGP (North) Shanker Reddy visited the bank on September 29, Tuesday and spoke to the police officials

The CCTV footage from a nearby farmers’ co-operative bank shows the thieves moving out of Vijaya Bank premises but the pictures are vague.

Kanhangad DySP Harishchandra Naik is leading the investigation team which comprises of KE Premachandran and M Rajesh, SIs of Neeleshwar and Chandera respectively.

Police have launched a manhunt for the accused not only in Kerala but also in the nearby states.

Now-a -days the people have started looting the banks too . The crimes are increasing because the people are not afraid of the police nor law. When they become strict it will come under control to some extent .
