Kasargod: Group clash in Uppala, youth attacked

Kasargod, May 22, 2016 : A group clash has been reported from Uppala in Manjeshwar on May 21, Saturday in the aftermath of the assembly election results. An attempt has also been made on the life of a youth.


It is learnt, a youth named Abdul Muneer (24)  was stabbed and his motor bike was destroyed. Police had to resort to caning to disperse the crowd. The incident occurred when Muneer was on way home. He has been admitted to a private hospital in Mangaluru in a critical condition. Meanwhile, it is learnt agitated over the stabbing case, another group  damaged the bike of a BJP worker named Shajesh who had reportedly stabbed Muneer.

Uppala town observed an undeclared bundh following the violent incidents. Police have stepped up security to avert any further untoward incident.
