Kasargod, Sep 30, 2016 : Kasargod Police have succeeded in arresting a gang of four thieves in connection with the burglary in the residence of K Ravindranath Shetty at Manjeshwar.
Those arrested are Moidin Ansar (23), Mubarak (26), Mohammed Hanif (26) and Imthiaz (28). All of them are from Manjeshwar and were arrested on September 29 by a police team led by DySP Sukumaran. A cash of Rs 22,000, a diamond ring and a karimani chain have been recovered from them.
Meanwhile, police are on the lookout for two more persons who were behind this robbery. Police have gathered that some of the stolen gold has been sold by the accused in Mangaluru and other places.
The theft had occurred on the night of September 9. The thieves holding knives in hand had threatened Ravindranath couple and had robbed a cash of Rs 22,500, gold weighing 19.5 sovereigns and the Ritz car. The car was found abandoned at Panambur the very next day.
