Karnataka Bank launches health insurance to cover COVID-19 pandemic

June 17, 2020:   Entire world is going through a tough time fighting the dreaded corona virus. Leading private sector bank, Karnataka Bank as part of its social commitment to protect the health of common man has launched a special health insurance policy to cover the uncertainties posed by COVID -19 pandemic.

Speaking about the said group insurance policy, Mr. Mahabaleshwara M.S, MD & CEO of Karnataka Bank said “With the objective of providing insurance cover for individuals for COVID-19 pandemic related health expenses, Bank in association with Universal Sompo General Insurance Company Ltd has launched this health policy. At a nominal premium of Rs 399/- inclusive of all taxes, one can avail health cover for COVID -19 under this policy. This policy will cover in-patient hospital expenses up to Rs 3.00 lakh, outpatient treatment expenses of  Rs 3000/- and will also provide a sum of Rs 1000/- per day towards expenses incurred towards 14 days of quarantine at a government or military hospital. The validity of this policy is for a period of 120 days. The policy is available to all the customers of the Bank in the age group of 18-65 years. General public who are not existing customers of the bank will also be eligible to buy this policy immediately after establishing a banking relationship with our bank. In this regard, customers/general public are requested to contact our nearest branch for more details. It is my earnest appeal to all to subscribe to this health policy which was envisaged primarily with a social commitment to protect you and your family from the risks of COVID -19 and live peacefully without being concerned about the financial uncertainties posed by this dreaded virus.”
