Karkala: Man who brutally attacked his wife arrested in Bhatkal

Karkala, Feb 07, 2018: A police team from Udupi has arrested Santosh Poojary (27) of Hermunde Patrabettu at the Bhatkal Railway Station in connection with the barbaric attack on his wife Anushree at Kukkudadi in Hermunde on January 27.
The police zeroed in on Santosh who was missing ever since he attacked his wife, by tracking his cell phone. The incident had taken place on January 27 evening. Santosh had hacked his wife from behind while she was on way home after alighting from a private bus. The attack was so barbaric that he had literally severed her limbs.
The two were married just a year ago, that too on Santosh’s insistence. It is learnt, he was angry with his wife who had decided to go in for divorce following a discord between the two.
The accused is likely to be produced before the court today.
