Karkala : Man attacks wife ; leaves her with severed limbs

Karkala, Feb 01, 2018: In a shocking incident  reported from near Hermunde  here, a young woman   who was married just a year ago was brutally attacked by her  very own husband  leaving  her with severed limbs. The  victim Anushree (23) is presently battling for life at the ICU of a private hospital in Manipal.

 

The accused husband of Anushree  has been identified as  Santosh Poojary. The two had married on January 6, 2017 that too after  Santosh had reportedly   threatened to kill all members of Anushree’s family if she was not given in marriage to him.

The accused Santosh also happens to be a distant relative of Anushree’s family and worked as a manager at a lodge at Mira Road in Mumbai. It is said he had fallen in love with Anushree who was employed in Bengaluru after obtaining a diploma in engineering. But, on realising that Anushree had no liking for him he had threatened her family following which her family finding no other way had got them married off at the Sub-registrar office followed by marriage rituals on March 23 last year at the  residence of Anushree’s grandmother.

 It is said after marriage Anushree had been to Bengaluru in search of a job.   Santosh  who did not like this took her to Mumbai. However, as differences between the couple persisted Anushree’s mother Suguna had been to Mumbai  to sort out the issue but of no avail.

When Anushree returned hometown and was heading home after alighting from the bus, Santosh had attacked her from behind saying he would rather  kill her instead of divorcing her.
