Karkala: Father, son die in collision between two-wheeler and bus

Karkala, Dec 9, 2015 : A father and son lost their lives in a tragic road accident involving their two-wheeler and a private bus on the National Highway near Belman Church on December 8, Tuesday. The deceased are Shekhar Kotian (50) and his son Nithin (11) hailing from Belman.
The father and son were heading in their bike towards the town when a Karkala-Mangaluru private bus rammed against their two-wheeler before hitting a Swift car which was parked on the road side.
If Shekhar died instantly, Nithin was rushed to a private hospital in Shirva and from there to Manipal. However he breathed his last on way.
The deceased Shekhar was the owner of a vegetable and chicken stall at Belman while Nithin was a sixth standard student. Shekhar has two more sons.
A case has been registered by Karkala Rural Police.

Speed is the cause for all such hazards. We ca not only blame the the heavy vehicles some times even the people travelling in the moped take a sudden diversion without any indicator which will be uncontrollable and prone to accidents
The Udupi rote buses are Demons and cost life of so many in the accidents.It is not the fault of the drivers it the bus owners who pressurize them. But poor thing the father and son both lost life who is the cause ?
The private buses travelling in the Padudibri-Karkala route are very rash . They act like the owners of the road they keep on honking for way and Hit the vehicles. The traffic patrolling must be strict and cancel the licence of theses drivers only then they will learn the value of innocent lives.
