Karkala: Accused arrested for raping step-mother’s daughter.

Karkala: July 1, 2015:  The Karkala police on Tuesday arrested a 27 year old man for sexually assaulting his step mother’s daughter.

The accused has been identified as Sudhir (27) resident of Shirva.

It is learnt that his father Toma has two wives names Baby and Meenakshi. Sudhir is the son of Thoma’s first wife. Sudhir works at Boy’s hostel in Moodbidri and the victim works in a sweet factory at Jantra in Belman.

It is alleged that Sudhir raped the girl when she was returning home from work 8 months back by forcefully dragging her near the bush. He also threatened her with dire consequences if she revealed about the incident to anyone.

 

The incident came to light when the girl was admitted to Udupi district Governement maternity hospital as she was pregnant and informed about the incident to the doctors.

 

The doctors informed about the incident to the Shirva police station as both accused and victim are from Shirva police limits, but as the incident took place near Karkala, the case was filed in Karkala police station.
