Belthangady, Feb 6, 2015 : Nidhish Shetty, a student and ABVP leader who was arrested by the police with regard to the clashes reported from Karaya in Belthangady recently in the aftermath of the Hindu Hridaya Sangama at Puttur, is now out on bail. Even several others arrested in this case have been released on bail.
Nidhish was among many who were apprehended in connection with the stoning incidents reported after the Hindu Sangama.
The ABVP had even staged a huge protest recently to prevail upon the authorities to release Nidhish. The organisation had argued that Nidhish was innocent and was arrested for no reason.
But sources revealed that Nidhish was arrested by the police after watching the CCTV clippings of the clashes and also after finding his ID card at the spot. It is learnt the footage showed Nidhish hurling stone at the mosque at Karaya.
Pleased over Nidhish’s release, ABVP members on February 5, Thursday night took him in a procession.
