Mangaluru, Nov 18, 2017: In an attempt to support folk sports event Kambala, Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Karnataka Amendment) Bill, 2017 was tabled in Karnataka assembly session being held at Suvarna Vidhana Soudha in Belagavi.

With new amendment, the government aims to exempt the folk sports from the ambit of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (PCA) Act 1960.  Karnataka State Animal Husbandry Minister A Manju tabled the amended bill in assembly session and the assembly is yet to pass the bill after a detailed discussion in the current session of the assembly. Earlier, the state government had passed an ordinance to facilitate the organizers to conduct Kambala and other three folk sports events in the state.

Tulunada Kambala’ telefilm releases today  :  A telefilm on ’Tulunada Kambala’ will be released at Don Bosco hall in Mangaluru on November 18 at 5 pm.  Briefing reporters here, the film’s director Harshith Kumar said that Ashikq Madoor has acted in the telefilm.

Kumar said that the movie is an effort to create awareness on Kambala.
