Kalladka resident accuses Brahmarakootlu toll gate staff of attacking him

Bantwal, May 22, 2016: A resident of Kalladka who is into line sales business has lodged a complaint with the town police accusing the staff of the Brahmarakootlu toll gate of  trying to kill him after picking up a quarrel with him.

The complainant Rafique (30)  has alleged that though he had shown his toll ticket to the staff manning the toll gate while  heading towards Mangaluru from Kalladka at around 12 noon on May 21, Saturday, one  of the toll gate staff  had hit has car with an iron rod. When Rafique got down the car and questioned this, he was reportedly attacked by five toll gate staff including Kashinath, Shiva and Santosh with iron rods.

Rafique who has sustained serious injuries has been admitted to a private hospital in Tumbay.

Hanif Khan Kodaje, District President of SDPI who has  strongly condemned the incident has demanded legal action against the guilty. He also stated that men with dubious distinctions were manning the toll gate. He was even critical of the authorities for collecting the toll even when the road works are not complete.
