Mangaluru, June 20,2017:  Four more persons were arrested in connection with 10 cases registered following the group clash in Kalladka on June 13. With this, the Dakshina Kannada police have arrested 22 persons.

Following a fight between two persons, two groups threw stones at one another resulting in injury to four persons, including a sub-inspector of police on June 13. This clash, which occurred after the clash on May 26, resulted in prohibitory orders being imposed in Bantwal and three other taluks.

Meanwhile, rituals related to the installation of a Hanuman statute in Kalladka was held amid heavy police presence on June 19, Monday.  RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, Rajashekarananda Swami and some religious heads participated in the function that went on till noon. There was no untoward incident reported.

BJP files complaint :  The BJP is reported to have filed a complaint with Bantwal police against Minister B. Ramanath Rai alleging that he defamed RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat during the meeting with Superintendent of Police Bhushan Gulabrao Borase.  BJP district Scheduled Castes Morcha president and Kalladka resident Dinesh Amtoor filed the complaint.   SP Borase said the complaint had been accepted as a petition.
