pub14jan19 1Mangalore, Jan 19, 2014: The Kadri police who acted in the nick of time averted a possible attack on a bar lounge at Pumpwell in the city where a weekend party was organised, on January 18, Saturday evening.

Sources said a party was hosted by a youth from Kannur at the Hi Bar Lounge and Grill at Kannur on Saturday evening and a large number of youngsters, both boys and girls were supposed to participate. It is learnt, the Bhajrangdal members gathered information that even Hindu girls were likely to take part in the party hosted by youth of another community. They reportedly tipped off the police with a warning that they will have to raid the place where a DJ Party is organised if the police failed to act.

The Kadri police who wasted no time, rushed to the spot,stopped the party and sent the over 50 young men and women gathered there through the backdoor.

It is learnt an entry fee of Rs 200 for singles and Rs 300 for couples had been fixed.

Meanwhile, the Bhajrangdal has also submitted a memorandum to the police authorities to take action against illegal pubs and also to initiate steps to  ensure that all DJ parties  ended by 11.30 pm.
