Kadri Park to host 2-day fruit and flower exhibition

Mangalore, Mar 18: The DK Zilla Panchayat, the Siri Horticultural Association, and the Horticulture Department will jointly organize a 2-day exhibition of flowers and fruits at Kadri Park on March 19, Saturday.


Joe Pradeep D’Souza, the senior assistant deputy director of the Horticulture Department, told reporters at a press meet held at Kadri Park on March 18, Friday that a wide range of vegetables, fruits, and flowers grown by local farmers will be displayed on this occasion. He also said that the event will include a show based on the theme of “Kai Thota,” during which methods of growing vegetables on 5 – 10 cents of land will be demonstrated.


 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Since the cricket fever has caught the entire world, a huge model of the world cup, made of 8,500 roses has been kept at the exhibition and forms the highlight of the event. The exhibition will comprises over 25 stalls in which items such as vegetable seeds will be sold. Mr. D’Souza said that everybody is invited to view the exhibition.
 

District-in-charge Minister Krishna J. Palemar will inaugurate the exhibition and Deputy Speaker N. Yogesh Bhat will preside over the event.


The exhibition can be viewed on March 19 and March 20.
