Kadaba: Youth arrested for acid attack on girl students

Kadaba, Mar 04, 2024: Kadaba police have arrested a youth from Kerala in connection with the acid attack on girl students who were studying in the premises of the local Government PU College on Monday.

The arrested man is Abin (23). He is an MBA student and a resident of Nilambur in Malappuram district of Kerala. He had targeted a science student who was studying for exams on the college verandah. Two other girl students who were with her were also injured.

He had arrived at the college premises wearing a white shirt and blue trouser resembling the uniform of the college and was sitting on the verandah. As soon as he tried to escape after the incident, he was caught hold by others and handed over to the police.

The accused was a neighbor of the girl’s mother’s house in Kerala and both had reportedly developed friendship. But of late, she had turned down his love resulting in the acid attack, it has been gathered.

SP Rishyanth, Puttur DySP Arun Nagegowda, Kadaba Tahsildar Prabhaker Khajure and other senior officials have visited the spot.
