Kabeer case must not be viewed from religion angle, says Bava

Mangalore, April 24, 2014 : BA Moidin Bava, Mangalore North MLA  has said that the case of killing of a Jokatte youth named Kabeer in ANF firing at Shringeri should not be viewed from the point of view of religion.

 

Speaking to reporters in the city on April 24, Thursday, he said  the case must be considered from the humanitarian  point of view and justice must be delivered to the family of Kabeer.

Referring to the Rs 10 lakh compensation announced the family of Kabeer by the government, Bava said he would request that a compensation of Rs 25 lakh be provided. He said he has already spoken to the chief minister in this regard.

Informing that the accused ANF cop namely Naveen Nayak has been booked under Sections 302, 295 (A), and 341 of IPC, he also demanded that those responsible for attacking the family of Kabeer should also be punished.

He also made it clear that he had full faith in the CBI probe ordered into the case. He said he has assisted Kabeer’s mother to open an account so that kind hearted people can assist the family which is  facing problems.
