Mangaluru, Dec 01, 2016: With over 30 buses on city routes, KSRTC has gone a step ahead to consolidate its customer-base by introducing monthly bus passes. Monthly passes at the face value of Rs. 600 will be available from December , today at the KSRTC bus terminal, Bejai and State Bank’s traffic control centre. The pass will offer unlimited journey in any of the city services operated by it, which include 21 JnNURM city buses and 10 other city buses.
KSRTC’s Mangaluru Divisional Controller Vivekanand Hegde told media that the pass rate of Rs. 600 is fixed as a promotional offer and depending on the response from commuters, the price may be revised.
Passengers, intending to buy monthly passes, have to first obtain an ID card having their photograph by paying Rs. 50, which is valid for one year.
Besides 31 buses which are under operation, KSRTC will deploy another 14 buses on city routes for which permits have been issued by the RTO. It is hoped that ’Day travel as you please bus passes too will be introduced soon. Travelling in these user friendly and civilised buses is indeed safe and pleasant.
