Puttur, Sept 25, 2016: In a shocking case, the conductor of a KSRTC bus which operates on the Mangaluru-Subrahmanya route has reportedly jumped into the Kumaradhara river from the moving bus on September 25, Sunday following a quarrel with a lady passenger regarding the money she had given to him towards the bus fare.
The conductor who took the extreme step has been identified as Devadas (42) of Vamanjoor. Search is underway for him.
It is learnt that a woman who was travelling in the bus had argued with him stating that she had passed on a Rs 500 note to him, though Devadas maintained that she had given only Rs 100 to him. As the quarrel between the two failed to die, the bus was taken to the Kadaba police station. Though it is not known as to how the case was settled, the bus later proceeded towards its destination. But, when the woman again started arguing with Devadas, he was deeply hurt and jumped into the river from the moving bus.
A complaint has been lodged at the Subrahmanya Police Station by the bus driver.
