Kadaba, Sep 29,2016 : The ambulance carrying the body of KSRTC bus conductor Devadas who had jumped into the Kumaradhara river after a heated argument with a lady passenger over the change which he reportedly owed to her, was stopped in front of the Kadaba Police Station on September 28, Wednesday and a protest staged by the son of the deceased conductor, colleagues and relatives to express anguish against the Kadaba Police personnel.
They alleged that the high handed behaviour of the police who had reportedly offended the conductor in front of the lady passenger in the station, might have deeply hurt Devadas who chose to end his life.
Leaders and members of KSRTC Bus Employees Association demanded that Kadaba police arrive at the spot and have a look at the face of Devadas and urged them not to repeat such mistakes. The Association leader also said that it was an unpardonable offence of the cops to reportedly undress the conductor on the pretext of checking.
Puttur ASP Rishwanth and Puttur Rural Circle Inspector Anil Kulakarni who rushed to the spot, consoled the agitated family members and well wishers and assured to get the incident probed by higher officials if a complaint was lodged. They also assured action against anyone found guilty.

The action has to be taken on the people responsible for this act . Devdas was the sincere and the honest person. He has surrendered himself because it hurt his self respect and was humiliated. |
