Mangaluru, Oct 06, 2018 : An International Conference on Radiation Biology organised by the Central Research Laboratory and the Department of Oncology of KS Hegde Medical Academy was inaugurated by Dr Madhubala, Chairman of Indian Society for Radiation Biology.
In her inaugural address, Dr Madhubala said there have been significant changes in the field of Radiation Biology with new lines of treatments too emerging. Such conferences go a long way in helping researchers in the field, she added.
Dr Satish Kumar Bhandari, Vice Chancellor of Nitte Deemed to be University released the souvenir and said Nitte University located in a rural area has now been recognised at the international level. He said Nitte Deemed to be University has been ranked 77th among the over 800 universities in the nation and has been accredited with A Grade.
Dr Shubhada Chiplunkar, Director of the Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer, Navi Mumbai exhorted students to make best use of such workshops as Radiation therapy plays a vital role in cancer treatment.
