Mangaluru , June 12, 2015: It has come to light that Praveen Salian, the constable in Pandeshwar Police Station who has been arrested on charges of abetting the suicide of 17 year old Jyothi of Kumpala Krishnanagar, had cheated several other young women in a similar fashion. Sources also revealed that several women had lost their valuables after falling prey to Praveen’s trap.
It is being said that Praveen capitalised on his police job and used to befriend several women only to walk away with their jewels on some pretext. In one instance he was also about to be beaten up by the public on gathering hint of his wrongdoings.
Just as he had cheated Jyothi, Salian had even enacted the game of love with another innocent young woman of Ullal and had availed loan from bank by pledging her jewels. A call that he had made to some contact to discuss financial issues got accidentally diverted to another lady cop who too had fallen trap to him. Just as his true face stood exposed the lady cop as well as the young woman who had lost her jewels to him had taken him to an undisclosed location in Mangaluru and had reprimanded him.
