June 14 marks ’World Blood Donors Day’

Mangalore, June 14, 2014: Celebrated worldwide; in Mangalore the District Aids Prevention and Control Unit (DAPCU), Indian Red Cross Society, Government Employees’ Association and NSS units of all colleges coming under the Mangalore university will be jointly organising programmes at NGO Hall in Mangalore on Saturday June 14.

blooddonors day 1 District Health Officer Shivkumar will inaugurate the programme while DAPCU officer Dr Kishore and NSS officer Vinitha Rai among others will be the guests. On the occasion, those regularly donating blood and various organisations spear heading blood donation camps too would be felicitated.

The KSHEMA NSS unit in collaboration with the K S Hegde Hospital Blood Bank will organise a blood donation camp, on June 14 as a part of World blood donor day.

The theme of this year is “Safe blood for saving mother” and the slogan “Give blood to those who give life.” There is positive energy in the efforts planned.
