Journalist Raveendra Shetty selected for Road Safety Media Fellowship 2019

Mangaluru, March 17, 2020:  City based journalist B. Raveendra Shetty has been awarded second prize in the Road Safety Media Fellowship 2019. He shares the award with Purnima Singh of Times Now Hindi. B. Raveendra Shetty is the chief sub editor of Vijaya Karnataka, Mangalore edition. He has earlier served as the President of Dakshina Kannada Working Journalists Association.


Raveendra shettyThe fellowship is given by Centre for Media Studies (CMS), New Delhi and is supported by The World Health Organization (WHO) India. The awardees have been selected by a three member jury during its meeting held on February 13, 2020. The jury members selected two nominees in each category. The first prize went to Prachi Salve of Indiaspend and Pradeep Dwivedi of Dainik Jagran. The third prize is shared by Kishor Dwivedi, Press Trust of India and Sangamesh Menasinakai, The Times of India (Third Prize).

The fellowship was given to B. Raveendra Shetty on the basis of his series of unique articles focused on road safety. The certificates will be presented to the fellows in a ceremony in New Delhi along with award presentations, a media release stated.

‘Namma Managluru’, a book of essential information on Mangalore compiled by B. Raveendra Shetty was released recently during the state level journalists’ conference held in the city last week.
