Mangaluru, Mar 13, 2015: Eighteen  year  old city youth, Nisthula Anatole Murphy, has been selected for the  John Lennon Scholarship.  The award instituted in the name of Beatles’ legendary founder and peace-activist musician John Lennon, by the legend’s family trust (his Japanese wife Yoko Ono) in collaboration with world famous institute SAE of Australian origin.

John Lennon.Murphy, student of AAT Media College, is studying for a Diploma in Sound Engineering. Nisthula, who holds an Irish passport, becomes the first Indian- Irish to bag this award. He is the son of Dr Shashikala Gurpur, director of Symbiosis Law School, Pune and the Dean, Faculty of Law of the University, Pune and Prof Timothy Murphy, Irish national. He is presently teaching at Uttar Malaysia University’s Law School in Kedah.

With the scholarship he has obtained admission to SAE Liverpool UK to continue his B.Sc honors Degree in Sound/Audio engineering.   Murphy completed his early education in Sacred Hearts Kulshekar, Mangaluru, Little Rock Brahmavar and GEMS Abu Dhabi. He went on to finish his Std X on Cambridge Board and Diploma on International Bachelorette from Symbiosis International School, Pune.  This is indeed a land mark achievent  for a Mangalore lad.
