Jodupala tragedy : Body of missing Gauramma found

Sullia, Aug 25, 2018:  Fifty two year old Gauramma, wife of Basappa who  was missing since the massive land slip at Jodupala recently, has been found dead. Her body was found a km away from her house, near a water fall close by Jodupala on Friday evening.  The Home Guards, Fire service personnel and the locals  assisted in the search operations.

 

The land slip has already claimed the life of Gauramma’s husband  Basappa, a Group D worker of Sullia Government Hospital and daughter Monisha.  However Gauramma and her niece  Manjula were missing.

The deceased Gauramma was an Asha worker and had stayed back at home on the tragic day as it was raining heavily.

Meanwhile search is on for the body of Manjula who was a tenth standard student at Madenadu High School and was staying at her aunt Gauramma’s place.
