Mangaluru, Sep 14, 2018: Dr Shivakumar Magada, professor of Aquatic Biology, College Of Fisheries and who also heads the Krishi Vignana Kendra (KVK) in a statement said that youth are being plagued by the lack of capital, skill and encouragement.
Thus there is little interest in agriculture and fisheries. Fisheries needs to be promoted as a brand and projected as a profitable venture, to attract the youth.
The country produces 278 million tons of food yearly and yet, there are more than 20 crore people who suffer from lack of food. Almost 40 crore people suffer from malnutrition. The number of children dying is high.
Due to this reason, in order to pacify the rise in hunger, fishing and fish cultivation will play a vital role henceforth. As a result, this field will give many job opportunities in the future
