Jewellery shop worker dies, owner grievously injured in car mishap

Puttur, Oct 24, 2017:  A youth from Sirsi who was working as an assistant at the Mohan Jewellery of Sullia lost his life while the jewellery shop owner Dheeraj sustained serious injuries  after the car in which they were travelling rammed against the roadside concrete embankment at Amchinadka  here  on the night of October 22.

The deceased youth has been identified as Gaja. It is learnt the two were on way to Sullia from Udupi after making some  purchases of silver  articles.  Sources said as the  weather was misty,  the car hit the  concrete embankment of a storm water drain killing Gaja on the spot.

As the road was deserted in the dead of the night there was none to come to the rescue of the accident victims. A group of youth which was on way to Mysore from Mangaluru on seeing the car  stopped their vehicle and helped the injured Dheeraj. The youth even took the injured to the hospital in their own vehicle.
