Manjeshwar, July 09, 2018: Five persons including three women lost their lives while eight others sustained injuries when the Toofan jeep in which they were travelling collided with a lorry at Nayabazar near Uppala on July 9, Monday morning.
The mishap occurred at around 6 am. All the deceased are residents of KC Road near Talapady. They have been identified as Bipathima (65), Asma (30), Naseema (38), Mustaq (41) and Imtiyaz (35). The injured have been admitted to a private hospital in Mangaluru.
The mishap took place when relatives were returning after attending a house warming ceremony at Palakkad. The tyre of the lorry which was heading towards Kasargod burst suddenly resulting in the mishap.
