Mangalore, Aug 16, 2014:   Addressing media on Aug 14,   International Society for Krishna Consciousness- ISKCON (Mangalore) President Karunya Sagara Dasa said that various programmes will celebrate Shri Krishna Janmasthami at Devadiga Samaj Bhavan in Mannagudda, Mangalore on August 17.

Karunya Sagara Dasa will present a demonstration on Higher Dimension of Intelligence on behalf of Basics, the parent organisation of ISKCON, from 11 am to 12 30 pm.  District in-charge Minister B Ramanath Rai will inaugurate the Hari Nama Japa Mantapa at 12.45 pm and will participate in the afternoon pooja. The devotees may chant the Harekrishna mantra 108 times in the Japa Mantapa.  Special ashtottara pooja and other poojas can be offered to the Lord by devotees.

Vocalist Dr Vidyabhushana will present a devotional music programme at 5 pm. The Maha Abhisheka of Krishna and Balarama will be held at 7 pm, followed by spiritual discourse. The Mahamangalarathi will be held at 9 30 pm. Later prasadam will be distributed to the devotees.  The time for the darshanam is between 12.30 pm and 10 pm, Karunya Sagara Dasa said.


Programmes at Kadri  :  The Hare Krishna Temple in Kadri is set to organise several programmes on the occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami at Dr T M A Pai Convention Centre on August 17.  Hare Krishna temple President Nama Nishtha Das said that various competitions will be conducted for schoolchildren from 10 am to 6 pm and Janmasthami celebrations will be observed between 6 pm to 12 midnight.

The competition will be conducted separately for various categories based upon the age group. Krishna Vesha and painting competition will be held from 10 am to 1 pm and Geetha Quiz will be held at 4 pm. Guru Pooja, Tulasi Pooja, Sandhya Arathi and Bhajans will be held at 6 pm, Bharatanatyam dance on Krishna’s various pranks will be held at 7 pm, prize distribution will be at 8 pm, at 8.15 pm there will be abhishekha, a drama on Geetha instructions will be at 9 pm, at 9.30 pm, there will be religious discourse, at 10 pm there will be adrama on Krishna and Sudhama, Jhulan will be held at 10.30 pm, a drama ‘Me and my mind’ will be at 11.30 pm and the Maha Mangal Arti will be at 12 midnight.
