District Minister forgets to bring ID; Bava arrives late
Mangalore: The Congress Primaries to select party candidate for DK Constituency held at Rosario Cathedral Hall in the city on March 9, Sunday morning saw some interesting events.
DK District in-charge Minister and State Forest Minister B Ramanatha Rai who arrived at the venue at 10 am had stood in the queue along with others to register his name. It was only later that he realised that he had forgotten his ID card back at home in Bantwal. The Returning Officer Praniel Nair requested the minister to wait until his voter ID is produced. A visibly upset Rai had to wait at the venue for some time until someone brought his ID.
On the other hand, Mangalore North MLA Moidin Bava who is infamous for arriving at almost all functions late, as usual arrived at 11 am at the Primaries venue By then the registration process was over and the voters had gathered at the Hall for the Sankalp Samaroh. Though Bava requested that he be allowed to go inside, the Returning Officer turned down his request and Bava had to return disappointed.
