Jaleel Karopady’s father demands CID probe into son’s murder

Mangaluru, May 9, 2017 : Usman Karopady, the father of the slain Karopady Gram Panchayat Vice President Abdul Jaleel Karopady has urged the government to hand over the investigation into his son’s murder case to the CID.

Speaking to reporters here on May 9, Tuesday he alleged that he along with some panchayat members had received threat calls and added that he had no faith in the police investigation and therefore wants a CID investigation into the case.

Usman said he had already met IGP Harishekharan twice and had passed on some information and documents  pertaining to the case. He also stated that  he  would be meeting Chief Minister Siddaramaiah next week seeking speedy delivery of justice in the case.

Usman mentioned about  the arrest of 11 persons in connection with the case and also the statement of the police suspecting the hands of underworld don Vicky Shetty  in the case.

He demanded that Dinesh Shetty, the cousin of Vicky Shetty who was an aspirant for the GP Vice President’s post as well as his close aide  should be arrested for  hatching the murder conspiracy. Usman also wanted to know why the police were not arresting Dinesh Shetty  despite him attending a function at Mittanadka on May 5. He said the police had stated that he had fled to Kerala.

Usman even produced a photo which showed a Vittal cop along with a financier named  Pradeep Shetty who is said  to be involved in the case.
