Mangalore, July 10: The DK district unit of the JD (S) organized a rasta roko near the Clock Tower in Hampankatta today demanding a CBI probe into the allegations against the Deve Gowda family and expressing support of the fast undertaken by its chief Kumaraswamy.
M. G. Hegde, the state secretary of the JD (S), said that the chief minister’s allegations against JD (S) leader Deve Gowda and his family are baseless and that his refusal to hand over the case to the CBI makes no sense.
Stating that the JD (S) will continue protesting against the BJP-led state government, he said that another rasta roko will be held on July 11 Monday near State Bank and later in all the centres of the taluk.
The protestors blocked the road for 15 minutes, but only a few JD (S) activists participated in the protest.
JD (S) leaders, including Shashiraj Shetty, were present. A number of policemen were deployed to maintain law and order at the scene of the protest.
