Ivan Prashanth D’Silva is President of First ICYM Central Council of Udupi Diocese

Udupi, July 15, 2013 :  The election to the post of office bearers of the first ICYM Central Council of Udupi Diocese was held on July 14, Sunday and Ivan Prashanth D’Silva of Holy Family Church, Brahmavar was elected the first president of the organisation.

Shawn Ashley of Kundapur and Renal Lavita D’Souza of Udupi were elected the Vice Presidents at the meeting held  at Milagres Cathedral, Kalianpur.

 

 Other office bearers are Sheethal Fernandes of Thottam(Secretary), Lionel Menezes of Kanajar (Treasurer). Bonita Alphonso of Mukamar(Joint Secretary) and Alwyn Fernandes of Kalmady (Media Representative). Leslie Aroza, Thottam was elected the animator and Fr Edwin D’Souza will be the director of the diocesan youth council. Lester Pais, President of Kallianpur deanery, Shawn Ashley, President of Kundapur deanery, Loyal D’Souza of Shirva deanery, Franklin Danthi, President of Karkala deanery, and Roshan D’Souza, President of Udupi deanery are the members of the newly-formed council.

Udupi Bishop Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo blessed the newly elected office bearers and inaugurated the first Udupi Diocese ICYM Central council.

Entrepreneur Frank Fernandes, Fr Stany B Lobo, Rector, Milagres Cathedral, Kalianpur, Fr Edwin D’Souza, Director of ICYM, Fr Reginald Pinto, Director, social development Commission of Udupi Diocese, Sheldon Crasta, President of ICYM of Mangalore diocese were present on the dais.

Earlier, Fr Stany B Lobo, Rector of Milagres Cathedral inaugurated a day-long training programme for office-bearers ICYM members of Udupi, Shirva, Karkala, Kalianpur and Kundapur deaneries took part in the training.
