Mangaluru, Jan 09, 2018: Kannada film maker and brother of slain journalist Gauri Lankesh has expressed his deep sorrow over the murders of Deepak Rao and Basheer at Katipalla and Mangaluru respectively and alleged that politics played a role behind these murders.
Speaking to reporters here on January 9, Tuesday, Indrajith accused the state government of failure to maintain law and order in the state. He also made it clear that he does not belong to any political party.
Indrajith said the government tries to end such matters by providing compensation to the affected families in order to put a full stop to discussions on the issue. However, it fails to take concrete steps to prevent such incidents, he alleged
Indrajith visits Deepak Rao, Basheer residence : Film maker Indrajith Lankesh visited the residences of Deepak Rao at Katipalla and Basheer at Akashbhavan on January 9, Tuesday. He consoled the grieving family members of the deceased and handed over cheques for Rs 25,000 each.
