Mangalore, Jan 30, 2014 : H.A.C. Prasad, Senior Economic Advisor in the Union Finance Ministry has said that the exports of India which have increased by 1.6 per cent is projected to be increased by 4 per cent in the next five year period.
He was addressing an Exporters Meet convened at the Karnataka Cashew Manufacturers Association Auditorium at Bejai Kapikad in Mangalore on January 29, Wednesday. He further pointed out that India’s Export growth was above 20 per cent between 2003 and 2008 and added the import and export business depended on the global economic scenario.
Pointing out that the nation had signed free trade agreement and regional trade agreement with several countries, Prasad said still India was facing problems in the process and emphasised the need for the government to concentrate on increasing profits both in import and export business.
Walter D’Souza, President of South Zone of FIEO, K Sudhaker Kamath, KCMA President, KA Ashraf, Tukaram Prabhu and others were present
