In a first, Laila Gram Panchayat gets ISO certification

Belthangady, Dec 24, 2016 : Laila Panchayat in Belthangady taluk which has been successful in providing all services expeditiously to the members of the general public, has secured ISO Certification and has become the first panchayat in the state to receive this honour. The name of the Laila Panchayat was recommended by the Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat considering the fact that Laila GP was much ahead of other Gram Panchayat as far as its services as well as style of functioning was concerned.

Laila Panchayat has a single window system to issue various licences, disposal of applications, sanctioning of toilets, drinking water facilities, street lights and other amenities. It has adopted a corporate style of functioning with a visitors’ lounge, TV, newspapers, drinking water facility, toilet and library.

In Kerala 50% of the panchayats have received this certification.
