Udupi, June 9, 2016: It is reported that a team of officials from the Food and Civil Supplies, Revenue and Police Department raided a chemical industrial unit at Brahmavar and seized 3,420 litres of kerosene illegally stocked there.
Yogishwar, Deputy Director of Food and Civil Supplies, on June 8, Wednesday said that acting on a tip-off, the team had raided the unit and found that 3,420 litres of kerosene had been stored in 15 big and two small barrels.
A half HP motor and some pipes were being used to mix chemicals and convert this kerosene into white kerosene. Turpentine oil too was seized.
Since the storage of kerosene was illegal, a case had been registered at the Brahmavar police station and another case had been booked under the Essential Commodities Act.
