Illegal cattle smuggling at Mukka: 18 cows seized, 2 arrested

Mangaluru, Nov 6, 2016: Suratkal Police have detected a case of illegal smuggling of cattle near Mukka toll gate. A total of 18 cattle have been seized and two accused arrested. Meanwhile, five others who were in the vehicle have managed to flee.

 

Illegal cattle smuggling


Those arrested are Abdul Khader from Kulai and Aboobakker. One of the 18 cattle which have been seized has died as the animals were crammed in the vehicle in the most inhuman way with their mouths and legs tied with ropes.

The accused have reportedly revealed during interrogations that they had stolen the cattle from rural areas of Kundapur where they were left for grazing.
