Mangaluru, Feb 07, 2024: The ISKCON Kodialbail Mangaluru Branch is organizing the 20th Annual Sri Sri Krishna Balarama Ratha Yatra festival (Chariot Festival) on Saturday 10.02.2024 at P.V.S Kalakunj Temple. During the Dwapra Yuga period, Sri Krishna Balarama siblings embarked on a journey through the streets of Vrindavan in Mathura on a chariot to grant audience to all their devotees. In commemoration of this, this festival is being re-enacted symbolising drawing the Lord into our hearts. Vedavyas Kamath M.L.A., Alvas Education Trust Moodbidre Chairman Dr. Mohan Alva, Jilla Panchayath C.E.O Dr. Anand, Mangalore City Corporation Corporater Mrs. Jayashree Kudva and Mr. Abhinav Bansal Director A.K. Bansal Group will be the guests of honour.

The colourful Ratha Yatra procession will be flagged off after an inaugural special  puja is performed at 04.30 pm from PVS Kalakunj temple hall. The majestically decorated and illuminated spectacular chariot carrying the deities of Sri Sri Krishna Balarama procession will proceed from Iskcon Temple, Kodialbail and pass through Sharada Vidyalaya Road, T.V. Ramana Pai Hall Circle, Mahamayi Temple Road, Venkatarama Temple Square, Carstreet, B.E.M High school road, Kudroli Gokarnath Temple Road, Mannagudda Road, Ballalbagh Road, M.G. Road and culminate at Iskcon Temple at 7.30 pm which will be followed by Bhajanas, Sankirtans and Maha Mangala Arati and serving of prasadam to the devotees by the volunteers.

The entire procession will be spiritually powered by the loud music and ecstatic chanting and reciting of the “Hare Krishna Hare Rama” kirtans by the devotees accompanied by dancing in front of the chariot by the  followers. The public during the course of Ratha Yatra can also offer flowers, fruits, puja / arati etc to the Lord. They can also additionally spread Rangoli in front of their houses/shops along with the Ratha yatra route.
