Mangalore, Jul 8, 2013: State Minister for Youth Affairs Abhayachandra Jain has finally made his stance clear on the proposed ultra mega thermal power plant at Niddodi.
Speaking to reporters after inaugurating a fully furnished market at Kemral near Pakshikere on July 8, Monday, the minister who represents Moodbidri constituency where Niddodi is located said he would take up the issue with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah as well as the Union Government. Abhaya claimed that he was the first political leader from the area to oppose the proposed project and assured that he will not allow the government to go ahead with the project.
He also promised that he will pressurize the government to shelve the project.
The market inaugural function was attended among others by MP Nalin Kumar Kateel.
