Mangaluru, Jan 5, 2016: A grand Horekanike procession  organised ahead of the Annual Feast of the Infant Jesus Shrine was  held for the first time on January 4, Monday. The procession was flagged off by Fr Victor Machado, Parish Priest of Kulshekhar Church. The  Annual Feast of the shrine  will be held on January 14.

 Hundreds of faithful participated in the procession wherein contributions made to the shrine by donors were taken. The procession concluded at the Infant Jesus Shrine at Bikarnakatte.

The flag of the shrine was hoisted on the occasion by JR Lobo, MLA of Mangaluru South and other dignitaries  present at the shrine. The flag was blessed by Fr. Pius D’Souza, Director of Rishivana.

The organising team of the procession as well as well-wishers were felicitated on the occasion.
Well-wishers and organizing team of the procession were honoured on the occasion.

Bhasker Moily, Sabitha Misquith, Corporators, Roy Castelino, President of Konkani Sahitya Academy, Rathan Shetty Barady, President of DK Amateur Kabaddi Association,  Fr Joe Tauro, Superior of the Shrine,  Abdul Ravoof Puttige, builder and many others were present on the occasion.

The Novena will begin at the shrine on January 5.

Wow! A wonderful and a colorful procession which was a combination of religions. A large number of devotees joined fro different places. Irrespective of caste and creed every one respected one anthers belief on Almighty
