Mangaluru, Aug 22, 2016 : Chairman and Managing Director of Konkan Railways Sanjay Gupta has directed the Railway Security Police to undertake a probe into the recent incident wherein the Rail Hoons Graffiti was found on coaches of Madagaon- Mangaluru Passenger Train which reached Mangaluru Railway Station on Saturday.
Gupta has instructed the police to identify the accused and also re-paint the coaches which have been defaced. Some anti-social write-ups were seen in the coaches of a few trains operating in Kerala and Tamil Nadu since one week. Last week two coaches of the Mangaluru- Madagaon train also had the Hoons graffiti.
Hoons is a term which is used in Australia and New Zealand and denotes anti-social. It is believed that the Hoons graffiti might be the handiwork of some foreign tourists in Goa when the train coaches are left for servicing there.
In 2015, a similar graffiti was spotted in a coach of Madagaon- Mumbai train. The same were erased by the railway officials. There is also a suspicion that this might be an attempt to divert the attention of the authorities and resort to some disruptive acts.
