Hindu outfits stage protest against ‘police brutality’ on Bhajrangdal activist

Mangalore, Feb 3, 2014:  Hindu organisations including the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the Bhajrangdal  staged a protest in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in the city on February 3, Monday  demanding action against the cops responsible for committing atrocities  on a Bhajrangdal activist.

Here it is worth mentioning that the Hindu outfits had earlier alleged that Manoj, a Bhajrangdal activist was subject to police brutality after he was taken into custody by the Barke cops  recently   in connection with the attack on a youth named Muneer at KC Road.

Sharan Pumpwell, Bhajrangdal leader who addressed the protestors  took strong exception to the police act of  giving shock treatment to the  accused Manoj and  urged the Mangalore Police Commissioner to look into the case and initiate action against the accused  constables Sunil and Isaac.He also warned of severe protest otherwise.

Jagadish Shenava, District Secretary of VHP. Gopal Kuttar, Krishnamurthy and others participated in the protest.
