Mangalore, May 7, 2012 : Praveen Togadia, the firebrand international general secretary of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), was given a warm welcome on Kuloor Bridge on the outskirts of the city on the afternoon of Sunday. He was on his way to Kanhangad in Kasargod to participate in the Hindu Shakthi Sanghom, organized by the Hindu Aikya Vedi.
Togadia arrived in a bullet proof car and was given tight security. Personal bodyguards surrounded him. M. B. Puranik, the local VHP leader, welcomed him by draping a shawl around him and touching his feet in the presence of many other Hindu leaders.
A large number of Bajrang Dal and VHP workers accompanied Togadia to Kasargod.
Togadia was also warmly welcomed at Udupi and Kundapur when he was on his way to participate in an event in Honnavar.
